Tumut Junior Rugby Union Club, the "Bull Ants", is a successful club that aims to introduce young players to the game of rugby union in a friendly and enjoyable club atmosphere.
The club fields teams in the Under 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15 age groups of the Southern Inland Junior Rugby competition. In 2006 under the old "even age groups" the U10s and U12s both won their Premierships. In 2007 the U12s took out the Premiership for a second year in a row with the U10s finishing third on the competition ladder and the U14s also making the play-off for the finals.
The SIRU Junior competition is played every fortnight on a Sunday with players competing in two games with two different teams each fortnight. This format is popular with players and supporters alike because it means less travelling and more rugby on each playing day. For those players that are interested in taking their game further the club also provides the opportunity to be selected to play as a representative in regional level competitions.
You can find out the latest information about the club’s activities from the News Flash links on the right side of this page. Local businesses that kindly support the Bull Ants are also listed on our Sponsors link.
New players are warmly welcomed to the club and can just come along on any training day during the winter season to take part in "the game they play in heaven".
